IMG_3633 IMG_3641

Rustic hanging light fixture made from and old plowing yoke. The upcycled weather beaten wooden farm implement serves as the centerpiece. Well worn wood in original condition with original patina’d iron hardware. The fully exposed wire shades are Victorian era lamp shade frames, that were originally covered in fabric. They were fitted with new UL listed nickel plated sockets which accept standard bulbs and wired with vintage twisted cloth covered wire. Vintage style quad filament, Victorian style bulbs are included.

Very unique piece and would make a perfect accent piece for over a distressed farm table in the dining room, kitchen island, over the sink, you name it.

Dimensions: 32″ long x 12″ wide (wire shades are 12″ in diameter)

Includes approximately 24″ of wire, suspends from ceiling and mounts with standard canopy (included with all hardware).

Note: While this piece installs easily as any storebought fixture would, it may require installation by a professional.

1920s Upcycled Table Lamp / Cast Iron & Copper

5 Mar

This is an Eagle brand 1920’s vintage table lamp / radiant heater. These were originally used as small space heaters during the early 20th century. The original coil heating element is included and screws in to the standard socket to also function as a heater. We removed the heating element and replaced it with a vintage Edison style filament bulb for a warm, dramatic effect. Any standard based bulb will fit, however. The lamp’s base is made of heavy cast iron and the shade and cage are both made of copper. The light was cleaned and the copper lightly polished but still retains all of its original patina. Original cloth covered wire was kept, but the plug was replaced with a vintage reproduction.

Very cool and unique piece of history and makes a great addition to your office, living room, etc.

Available in our Etsy shop.

Size: 14″ diameter 19.5″ tall

They’re also becoming very hard to find. Cart was left with original patina and not refinished. It has perfect patina, which refinishing would ruin. It was thoroughly cleaned and polished with a clear wax to preserve the finish.

IMG_3564 IMG_3565

Vintage art deco styled barbershop antiseptic sterilizer storage cabinet made by the Paidar company, from somewhere between the 1920s-40s. Table or countertop cabinet, designed to store barbering supplies.

This is a very cool and unique piece, picked up from a local collection in Virginia. I have searched and searched online and have been unable to find another one like it.

This cabinet will make a perfect addition and storage piece for nearly any room in your house. Perfect storage for your vintage bathroom, great for additional storage on top of a dresser or in the living room. Not to mention a great piece for any vintage inspired barbershop.

The original finish was kept to preserve the nice well worn patina. Main cabinet is a light honey-colored finish, top is in original black paint. Nice brass original hinges, original pulls and glass are all intact and in perfect working order. Maltese cross and lettering on the glass are what we really make the piece standout.

Size: 28″w x 10″deep x 8.5″h

Currently available for purchase in our Etsy shop. Click here.

About the Manufacturer:
The Emil J. Paidar Company has been making barber chairs since the 1900’s. The Chicago-based company is one of two major domestic barber supply manufacturers in the United States during that time period. The other one is Koken Barber’s Supply Company with headquarters in St. Louis Missouri. Paidar provided a bunch of other barber supplies as well, including barber poles, mirror cases, wall fixtures, work cabinets, manicure tables, shoe shining stands and coat racks.
