More Reclaimed Window Coffee Tables Available

29 Feb

Reclaimed wooden window now used as a coffee table with plenty of storage. Six pane window was salvaged from an early to mid 1900s home in Virginia. I then built a frame out of 2x6s, and used rough cut cedar boards for the bottom. This piece is very sturdy and solid. I try to reuse salvaged materials whenever possible.

Inside is unfinished rough cut cedar, window and base are finished in semi gloss white paint with a distressed finish with the legs stained in a dark brown kona colored stain.

Two of these are currently available in our Etsy shop, one is white, one is turquoise and white.

Size is:
28″ l x 20″ w x 6″ deep x 15″ tall

Both of these will be among the items we’ll have available at the Southampton Academy Antique Show this weekend, March 3-4.

Industrial Coffee Table / Repurposed Wooden Tool Chest

29 Feb

Vintage carpenter’s tool chest, repurposed as a very unique coffee table. This is a very well built, heavy wooden tool chest, probably dating back to the 1940s. This was a recent estate sale find and it’s completely original. Has tons of character and very nice patina. Color is a very dark hunter green – almost black. Has all original heavy steel handles, as well as original lock and key. Lock is not functioning, but the skeleton key is still with it. The top opens up plenty of storage space. Inside is a shelf and a wooden pull out tray.

Dimensions: 36″w x 20″d x 16″h

Southampton Academy Annual Antique Show

28 Feb

We don’t do shows very often. Matter of fact this will only be the second one ever, since we’ve really been at it. We were invited to be vendors at Southampton Academy’s 4o-something annual antique show in Courtland, VA this weekend — March 3 and 4.  We’ll have a ton of stuff, including 6 or 7 coffee tables, light fixtures, swag lamps, vintage clothing, traditional antiques and repurposed items. Basically everything currently in our online shop, plus some. Check out this slide show for a preview. Everything will be available for discounted prices compared and of course, somewhat negotiable.

If you’re not familiar, Courtland is right off Route 58, west of Suffolk and Franklin, VA. Approximately and hour’s drive from downtown Norfolk. Address and Mapquest directions below.

Hope to see you there!

Vintage Library Card Catalog – 4 Drawer

27 Feb

Vintage solid wood library card catalog with 4 drawers, brass pulls and windows. Appears to be made of solid oak or possibly mahogany, (not a wood expert)! This is a very solid piece and is nearly complete. The only thing missing is one of adjustable drawer inserts. The drawers are super clean and in perfect working order, no hangups, broken pieces, etc. Exterior of the cabinet is in all original condition with nice patina. Few scratches of course, but it adds to the charm. Has nice dovetail joint construction.

Not sure of the manufacturer as it has no markings. This was a recent estate sale find. These are very popular right now, as display pieces or to repurpose as recipe card holders, etc.

Dimensions: 13 1/2″ L x 12″ 1/2 W x 8 1/2″ H

For Sale in our Etsy Shop.   $125

Shabby Chic Cottage Style Coffee Table

24 Feb

Shabby Chic / Cottage / Farm House style coffee table. Top is a reclaimed cabinet door, salvaged from an early 1900s home in Virginia. Door is very solid. Original crackled paint and patina. Not faux paint! This is original patina. The door was finished off with a few coats of clear matte shellac to seal the paint and help prevent chipping.

The base is made from heavy 2×6 boards. Inner shelf is made from rough cut 1×4 cedar boards. The top is hinged and opens up for storage. The base was primed, painted a pale yellow, then white washed with a sunbleached stain. Then distressed and hand waxed.

Currently available in our Etsy shop.

Reclaimed Window Side Table

23 Feb

This is a side table made from a reclaimed window. Based on the same design as the coffee tables we’ve been making. The window itself was lightly sanded and stained in a red mahogany stain, while the base and legs of the table are done in a dark kona stain for some subtle contrast. It was then finished in tung oil finish and hand waxed.

Inside storage area is made from rough cut 1×4 cedar boards. We used some early American style 15″ legs, it’s the perfect height for a side or end table next to your chair or sofa. The table also features a sash lock on one side to lock the top in place. Currently for sale in our Etsy shop.reclaimed window table  $225

Upcycled Vintage Key Cabinet / Jewelry Storage

21 Feb

This is a really cool old key cabinet that was salvaged from an old school in Virginia. Supposedly this came from a science classroom and was used to hold keys to various drawers or lockers. The cabinet is some type of hardwood and has at least fifty number plates, each one with a small hook. This would be a really cool way to store your keys, or earrings and necklaces. Originally, both doors flipped around to hide the hooks, however the left door was broken, someone tried to fix it at some point in time and no longer flips around. The right door does flip around.

The piece was painted aqua blue and distressed.

Dimensions are 33″ high x 13″ w x 4″ deep

Available in our Etsy shop.
